I started breeding my American Shepherds in 2016, before the breed was recognized by the Canadian Kennel Club. I fell in love with this breed, and over the years, I've learned a lot about them, as well as many other breeds. I love their lively and attentive spirits, their empathy, and their loyalty. Working with them is never boring. Learning to understand them helps me grow, and they know how to make us proud and return our love. I'm constantly learning from them and always yearn to learn more.
As a long-distance trucker by trade, I took them every week to travel the roads of the United States with me. Their joy at being able to accompany me in my work was unparalleled. It was at work that I met Alain. Our relationship quickly developed, and he fell under the spell of my passion. Since then, he himself has become passionate about them and their spirit. He now aspires to deepen his knowledge of canine behavior and psychology, particularly in sheepdog breeds.
Retired from long-distance trucking, we now teach heavy vehicle driving and live life to the fullest on our small farm with our children and our furry and feathered friends!
We are a rebuilt family with my 3 daughters and the best stepdad in the world in the person of Alain. Each having different skills and interests, they happily integrate into our passion each in their own way.
All our dogs have been cared for exclusively by Dr. St-Pierre since the beginning. He knows each one inside and out! He's our right hand for everything related to our furry friends.
From a very young age, he has had an unabashed passion for animals—all animals! But his other greatest interest is reproduction, a little-known branch of veterinary medicine. He began his doctorate in 2012, which led him to complete an internship at the Mont St-Hilaire Veterinary Hospital in January 2017. As a native of the region, it was only natural to complete an internship at a hospital that had inspired his career choice. He then practiced for 5 years in Estrie before officially joining the team at Mont St-Hilaire Veterinary Hospital in October 2022. Since the beginning of his practice, he has had a particular interest in reproduction, from the selection of breeders with breeders to puppy/kitten vaccinations, including mating and pregnancy monitoring. His greatest wish is to contribute from within to improving the health of different breeds! A great lover of teamwork, he does not hesitate to call on his precious colleagues! "Taking care" is at the heart of his concerns. This is why providing a warm environment for his colleagues, his patients and their owners is a priority for him. He is now the owner of Mont St-Hilaire Veterinary Hospital since December 1, 2023!
We are proudly certified by ECCQ
Éleveurs Canins Certifiés du Québec (ECCQ) aims to meet the growing demand for information on responsible breeding while facilitating access to a breeder registry that meets basic criteria based on their certification.
Their mission is to certify breeders according to pre-established criteria in order to guide and educate the public on responsible and thoughtful adoption. By offering certification based on specific criteria, adopters will not only be able to find breeders that align with their values, but also provide a place for people to learn about the importance of registration, socialization programs, genetic health testing, and the preservation of the breed standard.
Furthermore, by offering an easily accessible website, we hope to encourage current breeders to become informed, understand, and adopt these types of criteria in order to reduce the risk of genetic defects in our purebred dogs, but also to improve the quality of breeding in Quebec.
Let's encourage responsible breeding and adoption for the love of dogs!
